Who We Are
The philosophy of the West Texas Children's Chorus emphasizes the joy of singing for its own sake, and the development of the whole child through diverse musical experiences of the highest caliber. We strive to provide a stimulating and nurturing environment in which every singer can grow -- musically, intellectually and personally. We hope that the WTCC experience will open doors to a life-long enjoyment of music for every child.
Now in its 17th season, The WTCC has been featured in the 2022 Washington D.C. Cherry Blossom Festival Parade, Texas Tech University Carol Concerts, Caprock Celtic Christmas Concerts, Bach's St. Matthew Passion, Britten's Ceremony of Carols and the West Texas Kodaly Initiative. The choir performed as an honor choir at the 2011 OAKE National Children's Chorus, and the 2008 Texas Music Educators Association Conference; in 2009 made its Carnegie Hall debut as the featured choir for the National Children's Choir Festival. In 2015, the choir traveled to Long Beach, CA and performed as a demonstration choir at the OAKE National Conference. This season we look forward to performing with the Lubbock Chorale, the Texas Tech University Choirs, and several other unique opportunities.
